Low Level Panic
by Clare McIntyre
Tuesday to Saturday, 12th to 30th April at The Bread & Roses Theatre
The Bread & Roses Theatre presents Clare McIntyre's acclaimed and award-winning play Low Level Panic. Set entirely in a bathroom, the play is a bright, warm, sometimes wet and messy comedy about three young women and the objectification they experience on a daily basis.
The in-house Bread & Roses Theatre Company returns after their first full scale production last year - a new adaptation of Miss Julie which went on to receive 5 star reviews - with another topical and innovative take on a groundbreaking play.
★★★★★ "Hart and Pryle carry the play with ease and make it an absolute joy to watch (...) Some of my favourite moments were Mary’s monologues performed between the audience. They contrast the naturalism of the bathroom scenes as Hart talks directly and fearlessly to the audience whilst acting some moments out, almost like a storyteller." - 5 stars, RemoteGoat on Low Level Panic (Actress, Bread & Roses Theatre, April 2016)
★★★★ "However Mary's (Tessa Hart) stance hasn't come out of nowhere and one of the most important things that this production succeeds in is the flashback scene that depicts the origins of her trauma. (...) As co-founders of Bread & Roses Theatre and Company... it is obvious the show's message means a lot to Pryle and Hart, and their natural rapport and shorthand really helps to sell the deep friendship of Jo and Mary, despite being very different from each other." - 4 stars, FemaleArts on Low Level Panic (Actress, Bread & Roses Theatre, April 2016)
