Tessa Hart is a London-based theatre maker. She is the Producing Artistic Director of the Goblin Baby Theatre Co., an activist theatre company not afraid to address taboos and set out to challenge the confines of conventional theatre. She is also the Artistic Director of The Bread & Roses Theatre and a co-founder of the in-house Bread & Roses Theatre Company (BRTC), which focusses on producing new and contemporary writing. Furthermore, Tessa actively supports V-Day and One Billion Rising UK, a global movement and campaign to end violence against women and girls, through theatre performances and other activities. Tessa is also an associate director of Little Pieces of Gold, a theatre company set out to discover, nurture and develop new contemporary work from emerging UK writers.
Tessa holds an MFA in Acting (International) from East 15 Acting School (2011) and a BA in Theatre Studies from the Free University of Berlin (2009). She has completed further performing arts work and training in Bali, London, Berlin, Brussels and Moscow and is fluent, as well as having worked, in English, German and French.
Tessa has worked as an actress, producer and director at fringe venues across London, including The Southwark Playhouse, The Park Theatre, The Space, The Hen & Chickens Theatre, The Etcetera Theatre, The Old Red Lion Theatre, The New Diorama Theatre, The Tristan Bates Theatre, The Soho Theatre and The Bread & Roses Theatre as well as at the Brighton and Camden Fringe. As an actress Tessa has also appeared in independent feature films, short films, TV-series and various other screen projects.
